New to remote support? Here’s what you need to know.
A computer that starts up and has a working internet connection is generally needed for a remote session. You’ll also need to be available to approve the connection. If you’re unsure, explain the issue by email first.
Email a description of the problem. We’ll discuss the scope and cost with you before starting a paid session, so you can decide whether to go ahead.
Don’t email passwords or one-time codes. If you need to sign in during a session, enter your own details. We’ll explain when remote access is needed and ask your permission before connecting.
Remote support has limits. If your computer won’t start, there’s physical damage or your connection is completely down, a remote session may not be possible. We can discuss what you’re seeing and whether hands-on assistance is needed.
Tell us what’s giving you trouble. We’ll take it from there, one step at a time.
Please don’t include passwords, banking details or one-time codes. Email buttons open your email app; you can also copy the address into your preferred email service.
